April 11 2005:
Bart's blogs are moving to the messageboard. There is one there now that I just slapped up there.
March 23 2005:
I saw Big Head Todd and the Monsters Monday night at the Crystal. What a great
show. I haven't seen those guys in a few years, and one thing is for sure......they
still got it! Great night.
I was reminiscing with myself about the first time Todd and the boys came to
the West Coast. It was 1990 and we did the show together in Berkeley, California,
at the Starry Plough. That was with the Strangers. The Starry Plough held about
150 people, and since we were both reletively new bands, there were only 4 people
in the place. We drank beers and I remember standing at the back of the room
with a pint of Guinness thinking, man this dude rips!! He still does.
Also, if you are looking for some great coffee, my good friend Jamie recently
opened the TAZA cafe with his wife and 2 children. It is an awesome place with
the best coffee in town. They are over on NW Saltzman and Thompson in Cedar
Mill. Enjoy!

St. Patricks Day 2005
Just sippin' a fine, fine, FINE, glass of my favorite
Single Malt Scotch. Not to sound like some old guy, but the taste of the ' Mother
Land ' calls to me. The name is Laphroaig, and it is an Islay Malt Scotch Whiskey
for the brave of heart. Let me know how you like it. Happy Saturday night! Just
listening to a little Dave Brubeck, can't go wrong there, and feeling good.
I don't know if you caught the show at the Crystal on March 5th, but the opening
band, Saucey Monkee, was awesome. Give them a listen, and catch their next Portland
show. My grandmother Marion Ferguson would have been 102 yrs old on St. Patricks
Day. She was a great lady, and since I was the age of 12, we celebrated with
an Irish Coffee. Her mother came over from Ireland in the late 1800's. I always
celebrate her birthday, and raise a glass to Ireland. Also, happy bithday to
my dear sweet mother who turned 67 yrs old on the 18. My hero! We celebrated
with some fine American beer, and halibut fish tacos at the Tillicum Tavern.
What a great spot, and smoke free. Alright enough from me. Enjoy, and hopefully
I'll see you at the Crystal Ballroom, Lola's, on Wed. at 8:30. Until next time.
Thanks Jason.

Happy New Year!! I hope you guys are having lots of fun. Looking forward to
seeing you soon. What are you doing the next few days?
Alright, here is some stuff for the blog page.
Happy New Year everyone. It seems like March since I've last written you all...Things
are good. I did a really fun show with Julianne Johnson and Michael Allen Harrison
before Christmas. It was a benefit show for childrens cancer, and the night
was ' inspiring '. It is such a great honor to sing with Julianne and the rest
of her band.
Lots of stuff on the burner for the Bart Ferguson Band. Look for upcoming shows
at the Crystal Ballroom, and other spots around town, in Feb. and March. I've
put together a group of gospel backup singers that really is a blast to sing
with. Linda, Amber, and of course Carla, are so fun to work with.
I always need to 'live a little' before I write a batch of songs. The waters
are beginning to flow....so expect some new material to come your way. I always
write about the people I know, so come up and say hello.
Please keep telling your friends about the band, and I look forward to seeing
you at the next show! Bart

I hope all is well with everyone.
I don't know about everyone else, but I'm happy to break free from the winter.
I took the winter and the early spring to write some new music and begin the
process of putting a new album together. With the recording of 'Glorified',
and ' Hey I Wanna Love You ', the process has begun. I also co-wrote a song
with Ashley Griffin who is a student at Renyolds HS, for the upcoming Deep Roots
album. This is a program run by a true believer in the youth of today, Chris
Gregg, a teacher at Renyolds. Chris teaches a class on songwriting, and asks
local artists to share writing responsibilities with a student. Ashley wrote
some great lyrics and I put them to music. The proceeds from the cd sales go
back into the class music project. Keep an eye for this compilation in your
local record stores. Make sure you come and say hello at the next show on June
3rd at Jamison Square on 11th and NW Johnson in the Pearl. The show will start
at 5pm. See you there. Be Great!

Hello again. Thanks to those of you who came down to the Crystal Ballroom for the my acoustic show. What a blast. I always love getting back to basics with the songs. When there is only a guitar and harmonica to back you up, the true emotion and energy of the song is laid right out on the floor, blemishes and all, and that is why I love to perform in that way. There is a face behind every song, and the image is very clear in an acoustic setting. Look for more of these performances in the future. I must say though, I am really looking forward to the next show at the Roseland with Dada and my full band. I hope to see you all soon, and thanks for keeping the music alive.

This new year is starting off
with a bang for me and the band. We just finished up recording two new songs
for a future release. The band laid down some very spirited tracks, and the
end result makes me happy. The first song is ' Glorified ', you may have heard
it a couple of times at a show. The next song is called ' I Wanna Love You '
and I wrote it in the same vein as 'Hangin' On ' , for those who refuse to be
PC about finding love on the fly.
I'm very excited about a couple of shows we have coming up. Check the "Live"
section of the website for the dates on these.
I'll write again in a couple
of days.
